I was born and raised in Nanaimo, graduated and eventually started a career in Property Management, which took me to many different cities over the next few years of my life. I lived all over BC until I ended up following my husbands’ oilfield dreams to Alberta where I continued to work in Residential Property Management and branched into Condominiums (or Strata’s as they are known here). The day I found out we would be expecting our first daughter was also the day we bought our first home in Alberta, it was then that I learned my true passion would be Real Estate. I loved the whole process and the idea that I could make a living doing something that I truly enjoyed was very appealing. After spending 6 years in Alberta, we decided it was finally time to move back to my Nanaimo to be closer to family. With a toddler, full time career, and a husband in the oilfield, having parents down the street was worth the very long move. We decided to keep our house in Alberta as an investment property and have just recently purchased another home here in Nanaimo. My father is a Realtor, so with this move I knew it was the perfect opportunity to get my license and make the transition to Real Estate and join his team here at Royal LePage. I am so excited to be a part of the Young Professionals of Nanaimo and to get involved with the community here.

Executive Assistant
I am originally from Zimbabwe, Southern Africa and moved to BC three years ago from the UK where I earned my BA (Hons) In Business Administration at the University of Sunderland. Prior to moving to the UK, I studied Accounting and Finance at Nilai University College in Malaysia.
I love travelling and have been very fortunate to be able to do so because I believe travelling has led me to have good appreciation of different cultures. During my free time I love taking walks, reading, cooking and volunteering both socially and with my church.
I have a very strong work ethic because I know nothing can stand in the way of hard work and persistence. I have learnt to appreciate and be grateful for the opportunities that come my way.
I fell in love with BC ever since I moved here and I always say who ever called it beautiful BC knew how spectacularly beautiful BC is. It’s not only the scenery that is beautiful but people in BC are by far very friendly and welcoming.
I have only been in Nanaimo for a year to be exact and feel there is so much more the city has to offer me. I am looking forward to meeting more amazing people and creating friendships and also want to be more involved in the community for this is my new home

Bryce is a VIU graduate of Applied Business Technology focusing on computers and accounting. In order to gain valuable work experience Bryce turned to the non-profit sector. He continues his association with charities throughout the community. Bryce currently works part-time as a bookkeeper for the Nanaimo 7-10 Club. He was instrumental in the organization of their annual fundraiser which led to a significant increase in sponsorship and donations. Bryce has volunteered with Volunteer Nanaimo for 3 years, providing office support, and is a major contributor in their fundraising efforts, networking with participants and sponsors. He has an easy going personality, yet can focus on the tasks at hand, and is willing to help out wherever a need exists. Bryce enjoys social activities like hiking, walking and bowling, theatre and comedy shows, and is not averse to having dinner and a few beverages with friends. Joining the YPN is a natural step to further involvement in Nanaimo through sharing and connecting with like minded members.

Choral Director & Voice Teacher
I believe that everyone can learn to sing.

I grew up singing in choirs in Nanaimo. That love of music led me (after stints in science, musical theatre, and humanities) to a Bachelor of Music in Voice at the University of Victoria. I’ve returned to my home city to encourage people to find their voices and the joy that singing can bring! I teach private voice lessons from my home and conduct the Camerata Singers, a fun mixed-voice community choir. I also teach musical theatre for kids at the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music, and run voice workshops for various groups in Nanaimo. Feel free to get in touch!

Naturopathic Doctor
Ultimately all of my work is about reducing pain and suffering, and bringing more love joy and health into the world.

I am passionate about helping people get healthy and happy so they can do what they love. I believe healthy happy people doing what they love contributes, even if only in a small way, to world peace.

My job as a naturopathic doctor, is to listen to your amazing and unique story. After gathering more information via lab tests or physical exams (yep, I can definitely do those things), I play detective to discover the root cause factor(s) that may be keeping you from reaching your ultimate health potential.

One of my favorite things to do is to teach people how to understand what their symptoms may be telling them about their lifestyle, stress, and even their heart-centred purpose. Woah! That’s pretty amazing stuff.

I’m happily accepting new patients. Please call 250-585-0379 to inquire or book. You can also track me down at and sign up for the (FREE) Weekly Tonic newsletter.

I look forward to serving you, and helping you on your journey towards your healthy, thriving, delightful life!

If this wasn’t the type of bio you had in mind, perhaps these factoids will hit the target:

I was born and raised in Vancouver.
In grade 12, I decided to become a Naturopathic Doctor (talk about heart-centred purpose!)
I majored in Kinesiology and minored in Contemporary Dance at Simon Fraser University.
I spent another 4 years (for 9 altogether) studying at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.
I’ve been licensed to practice naturopathic medicine in BC since 2007.
I moved to Nanaimo in 2009 to be with my then fiance, now husband. He is a giant.
I have sat on both the BC and Canadian naturopathic association boards.
I love being in, on, or by the ocean.
My family consists of my hub, 2 cats, 1 dog, a varying number of hens, 6-8 firebelly toads. Goats and ducks are in the future plan.
I fold paper and salsa dance and cartwheel for fun.

I believe happiness is a choice we get to make everyday.
